Scaly Breasted Lorikeet   Leave a comment

I dragged out the old Sigma 150-500, as I rarely use it, thinking I should sell it, so to sell it I need some sample photos.

The first attempt came up with this Scaly Breasted Lorikeet feeding on the flowers of a Golden Cane Palm.

These were shot at between 400mm – 500mm, and cropped slightly for better composition.

Okay doing more sample shots over the next few weeks, lets see what this lens is capable of.

Christmas Dog Shoot – support   Leave a comment

I helped my girlfriend Kerri ( of KerriShutterbug ) do a Christmas photoshoot of her two dogs recently.

Took a few shots between her more staged ones and thought I would post them as a midnight (our time anyway) Christmas Eve post.

Shadow (laughing at my attempts to get her to look at me) on left and Maddi  (with the “what are you doing” look) on right.

Maddi, not entirely happy with proceedings.

Canon 7D with 24-105lens- studio lights.

Skye (the Cat)   Leave a comment

We spend a bit of time at our close friends Ivan and Jules (of Jas Photography ) and I always look forward to seeing their beautiful cat Skye.

Skye is always willing to pose for a photo or too, in her Cat way ( which equates to total indifference).

Then we get the “Stretch” as I would rather be asleep.

Canon 7D and 60mm Macro lens (only because it was lready on the camera)

Surfs Up – Currumbin Beach   Leave a comment

A few more from last Sunday, these were taken from the Viking Surf Life Saving Club at Currumbin, while were having a lovely breakfast of sausages and eggs.

Was a beautiful morning down there, once the clouds cleared, the sun came out, and the waves were huge, with a big high tide pushing through, great for some spectacular surfing displays

Currumbin Sunday Sunrise – except there was no sun !   Leave a comment

We got up at 2.30 am last Sunday morning to head down the Gold Coast ( about an hour away) for a Pre – Christmas meet up of a Photography Group, I am randomly involved in.

So after an uneventful drive down there, except having to go through the McDonalds drive through twice, as we decided our first purchases might not be enough to sustain us until brekky much later in the morning, we were greeted by a very cloudy sky ( not predicted).

Below are a few of the photos I did capture on the day.
