Hover Flys in the Garden ( Roma Street Gardens)   Leave a comment

A series of Hover Fly shots from my recent visit to Roma Street Parklands.

It took a bit of time and stalking to capture these with the shorter 60mm focal length, then the 100mm I am used to.

All taken with 7D and 60mm canon Macro lens.

450D/50 Photo 31 “Skippy’s”   Leave a comment

With the recent rain, I have not been out taking photos lately

So thought I would share another photo from my recent trip to Toorbul

A pair of Kangaroos watching me from the foreshore park.

Taken with the 450D/50 combo, hardly any processing or cropping at all, they really were that close.

450D/50 Photo 30 Fort Lytton   Leave a comment

While I was filling in some time last Sunday morning , I took the opportunity to call into Fort Lytton  a great place to visit, if you are interested in history of the local area, lost of artefacts, and a great collection of military items on display, defiantely worth a visit.

This time I visited without the crowds that were there last time I was there with the hosting of History Alive , a great opportunity for photographers to capture re enactors in uniforms of different periods.

Anyway my wandering around this time I capture these images.

All of these images taken with the 450D/50 combo.

Of course, this made me think of my visit to History Alive 2011, and so I went searching for some of my images, and this would have to be my favourite photo I captured there last year.

Cheers Dave

Canon 450D/50 Photo 27 “Ship Wrecked”   1 comment

I headed down to Manly tyesterday morning, thinking of capturing some reflections of the boats in the Harbour, bit it was too windy, so headed around the corner to the creek, where I have captured some interesting images in the past.

So todays post with the Canon 450D/50 is the below two images .

The next photo, is three bracketed images merged into one usung HDR technique.

I got a little muddy, walking through the mangroves to get the first one, but all part of the joy of photography.

450D/50 Photo26 ” River Trees”   2 comments

Another couple from my walk along the Brisbane River the other afternoon.

First is this lovely Shade Tree, with the seat to sit and watch the world  pass by.

You can see a tree on the bank of the river a bit further up.

It had the most interesting trunk/root system

Both taken with the 450D/50mm combo, again showing the diversity of images this set up is capable of.

Cheers Dave

450D/50 Photo 25 “Kookaburra”   Leave a comment

Had to fill in some time after work Thursday afternoon, so went for a walk along the river and ended up in the Botanical Gardens.

In one of the trees, was this Kookaburras looking out across the park.

He was very well behaved and let me approach quite close, to capture this image.

Canon 450D/50mm F1.8.
