Birds of Carnarvn Gorge   Leave a comment

Part 2, to my posting of photos from my weekend in Carnarvon Gorge – a collection of some of the bird photos I took out there .

First up some Emus sighted on the way in, was great to see them in the wild.

I was standing next to this tree trying to get another photo of the Kookaburra, when this parrot landed only about a metre away.

Carnarvon Gorge – Awesome Part of Australia   2 comments

I was lucky to get out to Carnarvon Gorge last weekend – after a short 9 hour drive got there Friday just after lunch, do the maths backwards – was an early start.

Awesome is the only way to describe it.

Everything from beautiful nature, wildlife, and the Gorge itself is stunning – long bushwalks with so much to see – the 3 nights, 2 full days we were there was definitely not long enough.

First up just some random photos, and then I will get more organised and break it up into different themes for some more posts over the coming weeks.

Brisbane River Walks   Leave a comment

I am lucky to live in walking distance of the Brisbane River and try and go for regular morning walks down there.

This is another couple of random photos, I took on a walk earlier in the year (still going through older photos).

Kookaburras – all washed up   2 comments

A couple of months ago (yes, still going through old photos) we visited friends down the Gold Coast for an afternoon Barbecue.

While we were there some Kookaburras came around for their afternoon feed – it was raining so they were looking pretty washed up.

Chooks – well young roosters   Leave a comment

I visited a friend at Burpengary a little while ago, and spend some relaxing times on “Chicken Watch” as the your birds were let out for thier afternoon walk.

Of course I took the opportunity to grab a couple of photos.

A Random Bird Post   Leave a comment

I just realised it was January 1st, when I posted last.

I have been taking photos but posting them on my facebook page or 500PX

Anyway, I was recently out at Lake Maraboon, near Emerald in Queensland and was happy with the abundance of bird life

Scaly Breasted Lorikeet   Leave a comment

I dragged out the old Sigma 150-500, as I rarely use it, thinking I should sell it, so to sell it I need some sample photos.

The first attempt came up with this Scaly Breasted Lorikeet feeding on the flowers of a Golden Cane Palm.

These were shot at between 400mm – 500mm, and cropped slightly for better composition.

Okay doing more sample shots over the next few weeks, lets see what this lens is capable of.

Cheers Dave
