Rainbow Beach – A fleeting visit   1 comment

We were up Rainbow beach last wekend on the way to Inskip Point to visit family holidaying there.

We had limited time, but as always took the opportunity to get a few photographs.

The water was amazingly blue, such a lovely place.

A couple of Surfers.

Taken with the 7D with Kenko 1.4 extender and 70-200mm Lens.

Abbey Medieval Festival 2012 – The Knights   Leave a comment

Last Saturday I was happy to be  able to attend the Abbey Medieval Festival at Caboolture.

Having attended in previous years, I was ready for a lot of different photo opportunities and was not disappointed.

Tonight I will start with the Foot Knights and post other topics over the coming days.

Taken with Canon 7D and 70-200mm Lens

Kingfisher – captured at last   67 comments

I have been in a quest for a while to get a decent Photo of a Kingfisher, although not to the quality I would like, it is still a Photo of a Kingfisher, a fair crop from the actual photo, but flew away before I could get any closer.

Good thing is, that I now know where Mr Kingfisher hangs out, and will revisit the location again in a quest for more and better photos.

Blue Rutilia Fly – Rutilia (Neorutilia) simplex   3 comments

I had the opportunity earlier in the week to get to the Parklands before work.

I saw this Blue Fly, who stayed still long enough for me to get a couple of decent photos.

I have a few other “bug photo” I got on the day, which hopefully will post soon.

A horsepower fix   Leave a comment

It seems like it was in a previous life now, I used to own a few classic cars/ go fast toys.

Every so often I feel the need to revisit that interest, and with out a Hot Rod show to attend, second best is to catch up with a mate, who own a mechanical/exhaust workshop.

Below are some random shots, I took while I was there.

The 1932  Ford 3 window Coupe Motor has eyes !

32 Ford and EK Holden Utility

A few cars in the car park, waiting there turn in the shop

1958 FC Holden rear quarter, the Australian version of a 1955 Chev

And last of the photos, is a bit of wall art, A sign written FJ Holden Door , you can probably guess from this, my mates name is Andrew.

All taken with the 7D and 17-55mm Lens

I love photographing wildlife, and especially the native birds, this time a Rainbow Lorikeet, really like the colours of these birds.

I think she was bossing her partner around.

This time using the 7D, shot in Raw, processed in CS5, 190mm, F2.8, 1/200, taken in AV mode.
