Leading into last weekend – it is lunch time Friday and we are on the road – a 2 hour road trip for a weekend adventure – our long anticipated weekend away at “Moogerah Dam” spending two night staying at a beautiful old house based on the banks of the Dam itself – a nicely secluded (as in the last house on a dead end road with a lot of farm land between us and the closest neighbour) – sharing the time with some great friends.
On the evening of our arrival, we were treated to a stunning sunset across the water.

And the sunrise the next morning was nearly as stunning

The main reason photographers usually go to Moogerah with a camera is for the astro photography – but unfortunately the clouds that gave the spectacular sunrise/sunsets were a start of more to come and we did not get much clear sky
I did manage a semi “Milky Way” shot quickly between some thicker cloud bands going through – but certainly not we were there for

We did a little bit of “fire spinning” by the Lake side.

And there were LOTS of birds to photograph

A quick photo of the house as we were packing to leave (phone photo) – pity it was a afterthought as with the different light over the weekend could of got some nice photos of it.

In summary a great weekend – we photographed, fished, and did a little bit of boating – there was a bonfire – we will be back.
A link to their website is here for anybody looking to go there – there is also caravan and tent accommodation available separately but you do not get this fabulous seclusion.
If you want to see even more photos from the weekend – I will have these and more on my facebook photography page soon
Cheers Dave
We recently visited Kangaroo Island – and previously I posted photos from the Raptor Domain Bird Show
Today a quick post of a couple of the classic cars rusting away on the island.
I am sure most other places with the rarity and increasing value of classic cars they would have been removed or plundered for parts.

There is a couple more photos on my facebook photography page here
Thanks for looking,
Cheers Dave
I had the opportunity to photograph the Gasolina Pin-Up Girls on the weekend – check out there facebook page for more about them.
We had a lot of fun they are great to work with and being on the Sunny Gold Coast what would be better then a Beach shoot.

We turned one into a “Merry Christmas” Card for their website

We also took the opportunity while they were still in swimsuits to get some waterfall shots.

These shots were all taken with a Canon 6D and 100mm Macro lens, showing what a great portrait lens it is as well.
We will definitely be catching up with the Gasolina Girls again soon for some more shoots.
Cheers Dave
I spent the last few days out at Mount Barney staying at the lakeside cottage at Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages
It was a few days in paradise – lots of things to see and do – with Macro being my favourite Photography currently – thought I would start with some of the bugs I got there.

Early last Sunday morning, I went for a walk in the garden and surrounding yard and was not finding much at all to photograph – so walking back to come inside along the verandah, on the post at the top of the stairs I see a little spider and while I am photographing him – a fly lands as well.
First up two photos of Jumping Spiders with a little flying any as prey.

My second lot of photos posted from Greazefest – is a few 1950’s Chevs
I love the style of these cars.

Cheers Dave
I went to GreazeFest on the weekend for the first time – had a great time there, saw a lot of cool cars – finally getting a chance to start looking through the photos tonight.
Decided for something different would go through one style of car at a time – so starting with the VW’s – obviously “Rat Rod” is the popular theme.

Will try and post at least one set a day – and will be adding these and other photos to my facebook photography page as well.
Cheers Dave
