Moogerah Dam – “End of the Line”   Leave a comment

Leading into last weekend  – it is lunch time Friday and we are on the road – a 2 hour road trip for a weekend adventure  –  our long anticipated weekend away at “Moogerah Dam”  spending two night staying at a beautiful old house based on the banks of the Dam itself   – a nicely secluded (as in the last house on a dead end road with a lot of farm land between us and the closest neighbour) –   sharing the time with some great friends.

On the evening  of our arrival, we were treated to a stunning sunset across the water.

In summary a great weekend – we photographed, fished, and did a little bit of boating  – there was a bonfire – we will be back.

A link to their website is here for anybody looking to go there – there is also caravan and tent accommodation available separately but you do not get this fabulous seclusion.

If you want to see even more photos from the weekend – I will have these and more on my facebook photography page soon

Cheers Dave

Horsepower of a different kind   Leave a comment

Ok, after visiting mate mates workshop in previous post, I then went around to another mates place to catch up, and spend the night there, while I was up that way before heading home.

So of course, first thing in the morning I go to the Dam down the back, to see what bird life is about.

Now to do that, you have to walk through the paddock with “Kingsley” the horse.

Who then decided he would join me down on the fence overlooking the Dam, and obviously thought the grass was greener on the other side .

Taken with 7D and 70-200mm Lens.

Caloundra Sunrise   Leave a comment

A few more of my Calounda sunrise photos from last week.

Would of liked some more light clouds for more colour, but was still a magical morning anyway.

Will be a while before we can get up there again, but will be revisiting this location again when we do.

Both taken with 7D and 17-55mm Lens, with Cokin Graduated ND filters.

Cheers Dave

Caloundra Sunrise   2 comments

I finally found some time to look at some of my Sunrise photos from last week.

This is a new spot we found at Caloundra, that we have not been to before.

This is what greeted us in the predawn light.

About an hour later the sunrise from the same spot.

Taken with 7D and 17-55lens , the second image with a Cokin graduated ND filter.

Cheers Dave

A Dog on the Rocks   Leave a comment

And yet another from my sunrise shoot during the week at Caloundra

A random dog on the the Rocks, her owner was fishing, and she was happily playing among the rocks with another doggy friend.

Looking through some other sunrise photos from up the coast, will hopefully get time to post a few more images over the coming days.

Cheers Dave

Point Cartwright, Sunshine Coast, Queensland Sunrise   3 comments

Managed to get up and on the road by 3.30am for the (1.5hour) drive up the coast to Caloundra to capture Sunrise from Point Cartwright on Wednesday (25-04).

Driving up, we could see there was some heavey cloud to the east, but hopeful it would lift to give some colour with the predawn/sunrise.

This is what we captured.

The Predawn

A little later, the sun can be seen on the horizon.

Taken with 7D, and 17-55lens, using Cokin Graduated filters.
